Why Choose Culpepper Services for Baton Rouge Termite Control Services?

Not all Baton Rouge termite control companies are the same. Many perform a treatment and literally “hope for the best”. So, how are we different? James Culpepper, and the Culpepper Services team, has a combined 50 years of termite control experience, proper training, state of the art equipment, and the proper products necessary to eradicate both current infestations and prevent recurrences.

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture has minimum treating specifications regarding termite treatments. If the termite company performing the treatment adheres to state specifications, and the product label, that treatment will be effective for many years. Sadly, we see companies every day that are performing termite treatments that do not meet these minimum standards. Don’t trust your home to “those other guys”, use the most experienced termite control and extermination company in the area and rest assured that your home is safe.

How Do We Treat and Prevent Termites

Termidor termiticide

Culpepper Pest Control Services features Termidor as our termiticide of choice. Termidor is an advanced, undetectable, liquid technology. Termites cannot see, smell, taste or avoid it. Instead, they contact, ingest and share Termidor, completely unaware that doing so inevitably will kill them.

The Termidor Transfer Effect

Whenever a termite ingests or touches Termidor, it can become a “carrier”, transferring the Termidor to other termites it comes into contact with. These termites then become secondary carriers, behaving normally, all while transferring Termidor to any other termites they contact. This takes place throughout the colony. Because Termidor is slow-acting, it gives the carrier termites ample time to transfer it to others in the population. This unique, spiraling process, is called the “Transfer Effect” and its devastating results maximize the protection of your structure.

Annual Inspections are Critical

Once your home has been correctly treated it’s critical to renew your policy annually and schedule your annual inspection. The inspection should be thorough. Your inspector is inspecting not only for any active infestations but should also alert you to conditions conducive the threat of re-infestation.

More Information about Termites

Subterranean termites are the most common and economically important wood-destroying organisms in the United States. Subterranean termites are social insects that live in colonies that may contain up to 1 million individuals; each termite colony contains three forms of castes, which are workers, soldiers and reproductives.

Formosan termites have become a huge threat in the Greater Baton Rouge area, these termites are more destructive simply because the colonies are so much larger than subterranean colonies. It’s a myth that if you have Formosan termites invading a structure that they can’t be eliminated. In most cases the conventional soil treatment will eradicate the infestation. It’s rare that a structure would require fumigation to eradicate the Formosan infestation.
